A Tribute to A Friend and The Start of Something Big(ger)

I was sitting with a friend today when he smartly suggested that I post some ramblings and stuff on our new location.  Stumped for things to write about, all I could think was “duh”!

So, I was sitting with my friend, Joel Margolus, about six months ago. We had spoken maybe fifty times in the past 15 years when I mentioned that a space was available for a cafe in Jams Bay. Joel had been looking for something to do for a while and this interested him. The conversation slipped into the kind of moment where we acknowledged that we both had an interest in the spot, and we decided that we should look at it together. We would come up with something to create later!

Well, we made an offer on the business in a couple of days but we did not get it. Leaving it at that, we both moved on but with our eyes on the lookout.

About two weeks later a realtor approached me with the possibility of leasing space in a new building about to be built in Cook Street Village. After some missteps, we managed to get a lease worked out with the developer, a very nice person by the name of Brian Sharp. So the saga begins.

To be continued…
